STAFF REPORTERGUWAHATI: The Gorchuk Police is conducting an investigation over the disappearance of Public Distribution Scheme (PDS) rice which was being transported from Guwahati Paikari Grahok Samabay Samittee ltd godown at Kotabari to a fair price shop at Kahikuchi. On March 27, the rice was transported in an auto van and was supposed to be delivered at the fair price shop of a person named Tapan Haloi. The rice was for National Food Security Card Holders and was being transported by a person named Ranjit Roy. The officials of Food and Civil Supply Department investigated the matter and lodged an FIR at Gorchuk Police Station on April 10.
