Indian Army rescues 2 of 3 abducted ONGC employees from Nagaland, operation for 3rd underway

Three employees of the public sector company Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) were kidnapped by armed militants of United Liberation Front of Assom-Independent (ULFA-I) from a rig site in Assam`s Sivasagar district on Wednesday.

The Indian Army along with Assam Rifles and local police rescued two people in the general area of ​​Mon in Nagaland.

Two of the abducted employees of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) in Assam have been rescued from the clutches of a banned militant group, United Liberation Front of Assom-Independent (ULFA-I), while operation for the third is underway.

The army launched a joint operation with Assam Rifles and local police to rescue the hijacked employees.

According to the information, no kidnappers have been killed by the army; however, an AK 47 has been recovered in this operation, which is still underway.

Alkesh Saikia and Mohini Mohan Gogoi are the two ONGC employees, who have been safely rescued.
