MADIKERI/BELAGAVI: After Dakshina Kannada , it was the turn of Kodagu and Belagavi to bear the brunt of heavy rain. Reports of crop damage, mainly paddy, came from Vadgaon and Yellur due to overflowing of storm water from Ballari Nala. Several houses were inundated at Gandhi Nagar, Samarth Nagar and Shahapur.Shahapur police station was completely inundated, forcing policemen to abandon the station premises for some time. Vehicular movement was hampered on Khanapur Road, at Rani Channamma Circle, near Gandhi Nagar bridge, Tilakwadi, Vadgaon, Shahapur and other low-lying areas. While there were no casualties, there were several incidents of flooding, damage to property, falling of trees and snapping of electricity wires.Sunday’s downpour led to roadblocks in several places in Kodagu district ..
