Hubballi gets its Indira Canteens

Hubballi: After much delay, Indira Canteens, a flagship programme of the previous state government led by Siddaramaiah, opened in the city on Tuesday. Three of the 12 Indira Canteens proposed have been thrown open to the public who can relish a meal at Rs 10 and breakfast at Rs 5.The canteens were to be inaugurated about six months ago. Indira Canteens have become popular across the state. Similar canteens will be started in all taluks in the state,” he said.Prasad said that of the 12 Indira Canteens planned in the twin cities, nine are being built at many locations.
