Hubballi-based NGO shortlisted for global energy award

Summary:

Goal of the award is to present successful sustainable projects to a broad audience, for many of environmental problems already have good, feasible solutions. It has taken up 60 rooftop water harvesting projects, 200 water storage tanks, over 30 urban projects and successfully implemented 42 rainwater harvesting ponds.The Energy Globe Award was founded in 1999 by the Austrian energy pioneer Wolfgang Neumann and is one of the most prestigious environmental awards. “However, it was not only the overwhelming number of projects that surprised everybody, but also their high quality and standards. Fortunately, after intense consultation and discussions, the jury has come up with the nominees in the five categories.
