SHRC notices to Collector, MCK on cell tower

Shashanka over the illegal installation of cellular phone tower which was causing radiation and health problems to the residents in Kattarampur locality. When the officials failed to respond to their plea, the residents approached the SHRC, which directed the officials to status report to the commission by April 24. Sharada wrote to the Municipal Commissioner asking MCK to remove the tower from the residential area as it was causing health problems to pregnant women, nursing mothers and children visiting the Anganwadi centre in the vicinity. In the meantime, unable to bear the mental agony being caused by the radiation and huge sound being caused by the tower in the residential area, the tenants residing in the rented houses started vacating the houses..
