Partial success in checking crime: KCR

He said the government secured partial victory in checking crime and more steps are being taken to bring down the crime rate in the State. The government is conducting total review on the requirement for appointment of public prosecutors and assistant public prosecutors as it is a major step in ensuring that the prosecutions launched by the police result in conviction of the offenders. The government had sanctioned 311 posts of prosecuting officers of which 83 are vacant at present. He said the crime rate had come down in the State capital following the government’s decision to invoke provisions under the Preventive Detention Act on habitual offenders. more-inChief Minister K.
