Chandrashekar Rao puts Bison & Kaleshwaram on Modi’s table

HYDERABAD: Chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Friday urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to transfer the Bison Polo Ground and Gymkhana grounds belonging to the defence ministry to the state government for construction of a new Telangana secretariat complex.In a memorandum submitted to the Prime Minister during his meeting in New Delhi, Chandrashekar Rao who discussed 10 issues that needed to be sorted out, also requested that the Centre sanction ?20,000 cr for the ?80,000 cr Kaleshwaram irrigation and drinking water project. The CM was accompanied by chief secretary S K Joshi.During the meeting with the PM, the chief minister pointed out that the Telangana government had requested the ministry of defence for transfer of defence lands - Bison Polo Ground and Gymkhana Grounds- in Secunderabad for construction of new Secretariat building, Strategic Road Development Projects (NH 44 and SH 1) and also transfer of 7.58 acre of defence land (net area) for construction of six-lane alternative road proposed in lieu of Gough Road..
