It may be recalled that the tiger safari of the Nehru Zoological Park at Bahadurpura had to be shut down due to inundation last monsoons. more-inAnimals of the Nehru Zoological Park and residents of colonies around Bahadurpura and Sanjay Gandhi Nagar may look forward to inundation-free monsoon season this year, thanks to the storm-water drain works at Nawab Saheb Kunta which were completed in May this year. Tunnelling technology was used for these works costing ?1.2 crore, without the need to acquire properties, the statement said. Further, to assure the two owners who faced threat to their properties, GHMC had issued advance cheques of ?50.10 lakh, intended to compensate for any damage done to the properties during the tunnelling works.
