Hyderabad: Fast track court acquits BJP leader

HYDERABAD: A fast track court in Nampally on Wednesday acquitted senior BJP MLA Kishan Reddy in a 2010 case, where in he sat for dharna in front of his party office, Nampally, allegedly in disobedience of police order. This is the first case a judgement was delivered, ever since a fast track court in Nampally was set up on the directions of Supreme Court to handle MLA or MP cases.The court acquitted the Kishan Reddy, due to lack of evidence as Abids police failed to provide any material or other clinching proof during the trial. He applied for permission but it was rejected and despite that he did dharna and police registered the case.During the court proceedings, the Abids police failed to produce any evidence to substantiate their claim and hence the case was acquitted. It was on June 28, 2010 a case was registered against Kishan Reddy and two others- Praveen and Mohammed Basheer Ahmed- under sections 188 ( Disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant) and 341 (Punishment for wrongful restraint) of IPC.Kishan Reddy took up a hunger strike by putting tents on the road demanding few reimbursement to SC, ST, BC and Minorities scholarships..
