Stalemate over teachers’ transfer may end soon

The stalemate over the transfer of teachers of Telangana origin working in Andhra Pradesh appears to be heading for a resolution. “We have decided to adopt a flexible stand on mutual transfer of secondary grade teachers without insisting on the subject,” a senior official told The Hindu. Rules mandate that mutual transfer of employees is allowed in the same cadre and it will be same subject of teaching when it comes to teachers. The meeting is expected to discuss about the transfer of secondary grade teachers, school assistants and lecturers with nativity in one state and working in the neighbouring State.
