In 3yrs, 10L CCTVs in GHMC limits by 2022

HYDERABAD: The project to install CCTV cameras in Hyderabad and its suburbs will be implemented across the state by Telangana police. Police attributed 32% reduction in crime in Hyderabad due to wide availability of CCTVs. Within the next three years, the target is to install 10 lakh CCTV cameras within GHMC limits and 15 lakh cameras across the entire state, which includes GHMC areas.Telangana DGP M Mahendar Reddy made these announcements during a day-long workshop on community CCTV project with police officers across the state.In a press note Telangana police said the objective of the conference was to rapidly roll out the CCTV project in all 31 districts in Telangana right up to the village level in every district “All CCTV integrators have been told to maintain uniform quality standards across the state with a focus on sustainability , proper maintenance of the Cameras and their networks,” stated the press note.During the workshop, various success stories achieved through the community CCTV in Hyderabad were showcased and demonstrated to all the stakeholders..
