Shia communities across the Muslim world commemorate the death of Imam Hussain

Baghdad: Shia communities across the Muslim world including Iraq and Iran commemorated the death of Imam Hussain on Ashura, the 10th day of Muharram. Water, juice and milk stalls are set up in contrast to the situation of Imam Hussain (RA) and his companions who were denied water by their enemies. The holy cities of Iraq especially Karbala echoed with the mourning of the devotees. Imam Hussain was martyred along with members of his family during the Battle of Karbala that took place in 61 A.H.
