Narasimhan has convened the State Legislative Council to meet at 11 a.m.
on September 27. The last sitting of the Council was held during the budget session of both Houses of the legislature in March. The Council and Assembly were adjourned sine die on March 29 but the latter was subsequently dissolved on September 6. Sources in the Legislature said the House was convened solely to fulfil the constitutional requirement of having a session within six months of the previous one. It was the prerogative of Council Chairman K.
Swamy Goud to decide the duration of the session in consultation with the Leader of the House and caretaker Chief Minister K.
