Suspected Maoist held in East Godavari district

KAKINADA: East Godavari police have arrested a Maoist who was wanted in 15 major cases, police said on Monday. Gunni said Muda had participated in 15 major incidents from 2005 and 198 persons died and 122 weapons stolen from those incidents from Maoists. The arrest was made on Sunday.According to Vishal Gunni, the SP of East Godavari district , the alleged Maoist, Podiyam Muda, was arrested at Bojjiguppa “T” Junction on Bhadrachalam-Cherla road during vehicle checking. Recently, Muda allegedly participated in Palodi EOF (Kistaram PS) on March 13, 2018 where nine CRPF men were killed in a skirmish with the Maoists. Later, he worked in PLGA Hiduma Battalion as 1st platoon’s 1st section commander.Muda has participated in 15 major Exchange of Fire (EOF) incidents overall, Gunni claimed..
