Jagan treks Tirumala hills for 'thanksgiving'

TIRUPATI: Opposition leader and YSR Congress YS Jaganmohan Reddy , who completed 3,648 km long padayatra at Ichchapuram in Srikakulam district on Wednesday, trekked the Tirumala hills barefoot to reach the sacred abode of Lord Venkateswara on Thursday and offered his prayers in thanksgiving.Jagan, who arrived to a tumultuous welcome at Renigunta railway station on Thursday morning, reached Alipiri Padala Mandapam where he worshipped the sacred feet of Lord Venkateswara as per the customary practice and began his trek to Tirumala along Alipiri pedestrian route.Sources said the YSRC chief has already cleared candidates in about 110-120 assembly segments out of 175 in the state.Jaganmohan is expected to clear the names for the remaining seats in a phased manner depending on the political atmosphere one-two months before the elections..
