Telangana Congress expels 6 rebels

The committee revoked the expulsion orders against Shiva Kumar Reddy who had contested from Narayanpet Assembly segment as an independent after being denied a party ticket. HYDERABAD: The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) disciplinary committee has expelled six Congress leaders including Sabita Indra Reddy’s son Karthik Reddy, ex-MLAs Arepalli Mohan and Soyam Bapu Rao, spokespersons of the party Ramya Rao and Manne Krishank and Adilabad district Congress committee ex-working president Naresh Jadhav.The disciplinary committee stated that the party has sufficient information of proof of their anti-party activities. He has been requested to work for the victory of the party candidate from Mahbubnagar Lok Sabha seat.In a separate development, state Congress leaders tried to reason with Youth Congress national secretary Vootla Vara Prasad and his followers who had staged a hunger strike at Gandhi Bhavan after being denied a party ticket to contest from the Peddapalle parliamentary constituency. Vara Prasad alleged that the party leadership decided to give A Chandrasekhar the ticket, who he alleged was a “non-local” who had rebelled against the party and had contested from Vikarabad assembly seat (which falls under Chevella parliamentary constituency).Vara Prasad was offered lime juice by the leaders to break his strike which he accepted after being told that he had been invited to New Delhi by the party’s top brass..
