Hyderabad: Peacock Day celebrated in KBR National Park

A+ A-Hyderabad: Peacock Day Celebrations were organized in KBR National Park involving about 1050 students from 15 schools located around KBR National Park on Tuesday. On 3rd December 1998 central government declared KBR as National park. Due to more number of peacocks in the 350 acres of park, every year this day Celebrated asPeacock festival by forest departmentDrawing, Quiz and Skit competitions were organized for the students. The celebrations were more of info entertainment with the snake show by friends of snake society and cultural programmes by Delhi World Public school, Bheeramguda. Chief Secretary, EFS & T, Government of Telangana, while addressing the gathering stressed the need of protection of forests and its biodiversity and also national bird Peacock, principal species of the park, quoting the examples from epics..
