Some good news for those who love birds.

Hyderabad is going to have its own vulture rescue centre.

The Environment and Forest Ministry have decided to put in place another Action Plan for Vulture Conservation 2020-25.

The government has decided to set up four vulture rescue centres alongside the existing vulture conservation breeding centres, according to a Telangana Today report.

These would be established near VCBCs of the city, Pinjore in Haryana, Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh and Rani in Assam.

The population of three resident species of vultures fell by more than 90% during the mid-90s.

More than 99% of these species were extinct by 2007.

The central government has decided to take up the APVC 2020-25.
