Members of a Facebook group have extended a helping hand by gifting a motorcycle to Mohd Aqeel Ahmed, a Zomato delivery man after one of his customers learned that he delivered parcels on a bicycle as he was not in a position to buy a motorcycle.
Aqeel went to the house of a customer, Rubin Mukesh, to deliver the order on June 14.
When he went downstairs from his house to collect the order, he found that Aqeel was riding a bicycle instead of a motorcycle.
IT professional Robin Mukesh told the media, he asked me to come down and take delivery of the order.
When I went down I saw that he came to me in only twenty minutes cycling in the rain.
He told, I shared a picture of him in a social media group and its members reacted to it and said that something should be done for Aqeel.
The members of the group decided to raise money for a bike so that it could be gifted to the delivery man given his dedication to the work.
Mukesh told that Aqeel`s story was posted on Facebook in a group of food lovers on June 14, and instead of Rs 65 thousand required for the motorcycle, Rs 73 thousand was deposited.
Along with a bike, Akeel also received a helmet, sanitiser, raincoat and mask.
21-year-old Mohd Aqeel Ahmed is pursuing B Tech and he is in his third year and his father is a cobbler.
