Resort along Imphal-Moreh route soon: Biren Singh

IMPHAL: With the primary objectives of attracting more tourists to the state and enhancing the Act East Policy, chief minister Nongthombam Biren Singh on Thursday said his government is planning to build a resort along the Imphal-Moreh route. He also announced that the Union civil aviation ministry has assured that Air India will begin daily direct flights from New Delhi to Imphal by the first week of April.Moreh town is the focal point of the ambitious Act East Policy. Various infrastructure, including integrated checkposts, are currently being set up at the border town in Tengnoupal district.Addressing the inaugural function of the 3rd Annual Convention between Northeast India and ASEAN in Imphal, Biren said the government is trying to acquire 100 acres of land near the Tengnoupal district headquarters to set up the resort..
