NIA raids Congress MLA’s house in Imphal, seizes arms and cash

Police have arrested five people, including two jawans of the 2nd MR, and seized one of the missing pistols from a Kuki militant.Haokip, who won from Kuki-dominated Saikul constituency in Kangpokpi district, is undergoing treatment in a private hospital here, sources said. IMPHAL: Sleuths of National Investigation Agency ( NIA ) raided the residence of Manipur Congress MLA Yamthong Haokip at Mantripukhri in Imphal on Tuesday and found three rifles, two pistols, gold biscuits and bundles of Rs 2000 notes.The raid was conducted to look for 9mm pistols (56 in number) and magazines that went missing from the armoury of 2 BN Manipur Rifles (MR) in Imphal, sources said..
