IMPHAL: Manipur University (MU) vice-chancellor Adya Prashad Pandey, who is currently facing a probe because of alleged financial and administrative irregularities, has appointed K Yugindro Singh, the seniormost professor of the physics department, as the pro-VC. "His term of office will be co-terminus with the incumbent VC or will continue till the date of superannuation or until further orders, whichever is earlier. Pandey issued an order on Monday, appointing Yugindro to the post. "In anticipation of approval of the executive council and in exercise of the powers under section 13 (3) of the Manipur University Act, 2005, read with Statute 4 and the UGC Regulations 2018 as published in the Gazette of India dated July 17,2018, Yugindro has been appointed as the pro-VC of MU with immediate effect," the order read.
