Guest house for Myanmar pilgrims in Manipur soon

IMPHAL: Chief minister N Biren Singh on Monday said his government will provide land for construction of a guest house in the state for Myanmarese pilgrims who visit Bodh Gaya every year.Addressing a gathering at the 'Indo Myanmar Sangai Business Summit 2018' here, the CM said Manipur shares a strong cultural affinity with Myanmar in terms of tastes and preferences and that there is a huge potential for partnerships in trade, commerce, culture and tourism.The state government has constituted a state-level committee to aid and advice in the effective operationalization of the Act East Policy in Manipur in association with the Centre, the CM said, adding that a visa facilitation office will be opened in Imphal for issuing visas for over 30 countries..
