IMPHAL: Assam Rifles personnel on Friday confiscated over 1kg of heroin worth around Rs 4.5 crores from two individuals at Khudengthabi checkpost near the border town of Moreh . During the meets, it was discussed how Assam Rifles can work in close synergy with local residents to maintain peace and harmony. On carrying out a thorough search of the vehicle, the team recovered two big packets and 33 small packets of heroin, weighing around 1.126kg, said an Assam Rifles statement. The two men along with the recovered heroin were handed over to officials of the Narcotics Control Bureau of Imphal.Meanwhile, the Mantripukhri and Tulihal battalions of 9 sector Assam Rifles recently conducted their monthly security meets at Tulihal, Mayang Imphal and Yaingangpokpi company operating bases in Imphal. The two men, Md Bharul Islam ( 22) from Lilong in Thoubal district and Md Ina ( 31) from the Hatta Mana Ingkhol area in Imphal East, were apprehended.Based on specific inputs, a team of the paramilitary force's Tengnoupal battalion stopped a car coming from Moreh and going towards Imphal..
