Central Bureau of Investigation had submitted a chargesheet against a BJP legislator Lourembam Rameshwor and four other in connection with alleged fraudent supply of furniture to International Guest house on Manipur University campus in Imphal.

The Central Bureau of Investigation had submitted a chargesheet against a BJP legislator Lourembam Rameshwor and four other in connection with alleged fraudent supply of furniture to International Guest house on Manipur University campus in Imphal.

Investigation established that the accused cheated the university from 2012-2016 it was said in a chargesheet which was submitted before the Special Judge Imphal west district.

 Imphal branch , accused the five under sections 120B, 420, 4 68, 471, 477A of the IPC and Section 13(2) r/w 13(1) of the  Prevention of Corruption Act 1988 as per the report.

Rameshwor, then proprietor of M/S Lourembam Enterprises, won  on a BJP ticket from Keirao constituency in Imphal East in the 2017 state polls .

The other four accused are K Jibankumar Singh, then finance  officer of MU, N Tejendro, then store-in-charge of the varsity,  Ksh Bashanta, then purchase officer of the varsity, and Ksh Joykumar, former manager of the private firm.
The three accused that their official power  and fraudently showed undue favour to contractor.

Present MLA  Rameshwor in awarding the work for supply of various furniture item for guest house.

MU officials had also falsely shown receipt of the furniture items in full quantities in the stock register in October 2014 and the entire bill amount falsely claimed by the private firm had been paid.
