INDORE: A second petition has been filed against mayor, IMC commissioner and two others before high court seeking action for not holding regular corporation meetings since civic body elections in January 2015.The second petition by 14 Congress corporators has alleged contempt of court’s order passed in the earlier PIL, in which IMC officials had made a statement that corporation meetings will be held regularly every two months.The contempt petition has alleged that as per norms, there should have been over 25 meetings of the corporation, however, only eight meetings were held. However, the issues have not been raised before the corporation causing damage to public,” advocate Anshumaan Shrivastav, petitioner’s counsel said.The PIL filed by corporators earlier had been disposed on December 19, 2017 after which only one corporation meeting has been held. The petitioners also claimed that out of these eight meetings three were budget meetings, where the general issues of each ward could not be discussed.The contempt petition has sought court’s interference in initiating criminal action against mayor Malini Goud , IMC commissioner Asheesh Singh, IMC chairman Ajay Singh Naruka and divisional commissioner Raghvendra Singh — the four respondents to the petition.The petitioners have claimed that irreparable loss has been inflicted over public at large as issues concerning development of city could not be raised due to the conduct of officials.“Each corporator has the right to raise two questions regarding his or her ward’s issues at corporation meeting..
