State files writ appeal in Kavita Raina case

Meanwhile Mahesh Bairagi - who was acquitted and his wife Meena Bairagi have sent defamation notices to police and state seeking compensation worth Rs five crore each. Judge BK Dwivedi on May 18, 2018 had acquitted Mahesh Bairagi for murder of Kavita Raina, who had gone missing on August 24, 2015 and her body was found in a nullah at Teen Imli square two days later. The application to file appeal was forwarded by government prosecutor at sessions court to the law and legislative department, who granted approval to file appeal on Monday.
