Man accused of child molestation flees courtroom after judge convicts him in MP's Ratlam

INDORE: A man convicted for sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl fled a Ratlam courtroom after judge sentenced him for three years on Thursday.The accused, Shantilal Dindor, pushed aside the policemen and the courtroom staff and fled the room soon after Special Judge Sabir Ahmed Khan convicted him under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.Dindor was accused of sexually assaulting the Class 6 girl on October 22, 2017. Ratlam’s Manak Chowk police had registered a case against him and arrested him on November 8, 2017.During the course of trial, Dindor was released on bail and had been attending the hearings.On Thursday, soon after he heard the judge pronouncing him a sentence of three years imprisonment and Rs 500 fine, Dindor pushed aside court official Gopal Shukla and ran out of the courtroom, Ratlam’s Station Road police station in-charge Rajendra K Verma told TOI.Attempts to trace him failed, he said.A case was registered against Dindor and attempts were on to trace him..
