Summary:

As the extent of tree felling was expected to be widespread, an investigation was ordered by the Indore DFO. They will have to submit a report of their findings to conservation wing of the forest department within one week of the order dated September 17.The first team comprised SDO Barwah Madan Singh Dabar and flying squad under CCF Khandwa. The second team was constituted of Shajapur SDO Rakesh Lahari, Range officer Agar Ashok Khetadiya, forester Ashok Baghel and two others. Indore: After two rounds of investigation into alleged tree cutting incident at Indore division’s Choral range, a fresh probe has been ordered by additional principal chief conservator of forests which will be done by three teams.The teams have been directed to investigate the tree felling incidents at Choral which have happened since January 2018. As per their report over 400 trees had been girdled in Choral range and stumps of around 200 trees had also been found.However, the report submitted by the first inspection team was cross checked by another SDO who found that lesser number of trees had been cut at Choral as compared to the claim made by the first team.In the case, till now four forest department workers including two deputy rangers and two forest guards have been suspended from duty and the concerned range officer and the sub divisional officer have been issued notices to explain the incident..
