13 polling booths to be shifted in Indore district

INDORE: As part of its ongoing preparations for the forthcoming assembly polls, the district electoral office has identified 13 polling booths, which will be shifted elsewhere.The booths to be shifted are either in dilapidated condition or very far away from registered voters. If the proposal will be accepted by the Bhopal office, the number of existing polling stations will reduce from 3109 to 3108 across the district.The district electoral office has repaired buildings of six dilapidated polling stations. Buildings of the remaining polling stations are in dilapidated conditions. It had received applications for shifting 100 polling stations. The district electoral office has sent an application to MP Election Commission in Bhopal for shifting the 13 polling stations.While explaining about the reasons for shifting the polling booths, the local authority said one of the polling stations has to be shifted due to construction of a religious structure at its place while another is located on a police station campus..
