Madhya Pradesh 112 people lose licence for not depositing arms during polls

"The firearms holders, whose licence have been cancelled, are believed to have moved out to different cities or abroad since they failed to act on the order. INDORE: Gun licence of 112 people, who failed to deposit their firearms during the model code of conduct, have been cancelled by district administration while the police have also seized weapons from nine licence holders for violating the set rules. However, they will be asked to deposit the weapons after model code of conduct will be enforced for Lok Sabha polls , which is expected in April next year. "As per the official records, the district administration has issued 9359 gun licenses. "The police station in charge recommended district collector to cancel licence of such firearms as the licensee were not traced to their address and phone number mentioned in the records", Soni said.The collector has cancelled all 112 gun licences..
