On processing 60% comes out as dal, while 25% goes as cattle feed. INDORE: Dal mills have kicked off stocking to build inventory after a jump in arrival of pulses from fresh harvest that is likely to double up in coming weeks.Dal mills are aiming to build at least 1 to 2 months inventory as prices are at lower levels owing to arrival pressure and may rebound once supply slips in.A dal processer from Indore Sujay Kabra said, “Mills have started purchasing pulses to build stocks as per their capacities since prices are at lower levels and unlike to decline further from these levels.”At present, dal mills are stocking chana, masoor and tur. The rest is wasted, industry experts said.Most of the mills of the region were forced to cut down production due to non-availability of raw material and declining prices of the finished goods in local market..
