Rs65cr unaccounted for in loan given to Indore farmers

While farmers, who have submitted green forms, have been shown procuring around Rs 4 crore in addition to loans distributed to them while around Rs 2.26 crore has been shown less against debt that they borrowed for agriculture purposes.Similarly, farmers, who have submitted white forms, have shown procuring around Rs 9 lakh more to what they actually took as agriculture loan while about Rs 16 lakh has been shown less as loan amount against what farmers had actually borrowed.“We have written to IPC bank to examine amount as shown in list of beneficiaries with loan amount they had actually borrowed and the revised list with actual figure of loan amount should be further sent to state government to square accounts of farmers’ agriculture loan,” assistant commissioner (cooperative) Manoj Kumar Gupta said. Indore: Audit of 68 out of total 120 primary agriculture cooperative societies of the district has revealed an alleged difference of around Rs6.5crore in loan distributed to over 1,000 farmers across the district as part of ongoing scrutiny of alleged fraud in agriculture loan distribution and identification of eligible farmers for Jai Kisan Farm Loan Waiver Scheme.For loan waiver schemes, eligible farmers have been asked to submit application through green forms (in case applicant’s bank account is linked with Aadhaar) and white forms for those, whose bank account is not linked with Aadhar.A committee, comprising deputy director or of department of farmer welfare and agriculture development as coordinator along with Indore zila panchayat CEO, assistant commissioner of cooperative department, lead bank manager (LDM, Bank of India), chief executive officer of IPC Bank and manager of regional rural bank (RRB), has found in audit of total 120 societies that there is a difference of about Rs 6.5 Crore in loan amount that have been distributed to farmers.The difference has been found in loan distributed to 1031 ‘green form’ farmers and 46 ‘white form’ farmers..
