Indore: On behalf of the state government, newly-appointed additional advocate general on Monday argued the company petition filed regarding Hukumchand Mill case over change in land use and its sale.The company petition was listed after two months before Justice Prakash Shirvastava who granted three weeks to AAG Ravindra Singh Chhabra to study the file and argue the matter.The application pending before the court has been filed by workers seeking change in land use of 42 acre Hukumchand Mill land from industrial to commercial so that it may fetch a higher price and may be easily auctioned to the highest bidder.The state government before the elections had been represented by advocate Manoi Munshi who had argued before the court that since the state was no longer its owner, the rightful owner - Indore Municipal Corporation - may move an application before the director, town and country planning department seeking change in land use.However, the court ruled that the application for change in land use could be moved by any interested party and hence application filed by the workers union before the court be considered as an application for change in land use- by the director, town and country planning.The court had also directed the town and country planning department to expeditiously decide the issue..
