Ramayan Express resumes with full occupancy from Indore. Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation’s (IRCTC) ‘Ramayan Special’ train departed from Indore station on Friday morning with around 804 passengers.

This was the first Ramayan Special Express train operated by IRCTC after the COVID lockdown.
The train departed from Indore railway station as per its scheduled timing 10.45am, with 804 passengers including 740 in sleeper class coaches and 64 in AC coaches.

“The special train (00937) during the course of its journey started from Indore and it will return on March 3 after covering five important destinations/places of religious importance including Ayodhya, Nandigram, Prayag, Shringverpur and Chitrakoot,” said an IRCTC official.

“The train during the course of its journey operated via Dewas, Ujjain, Shujalpur, Sehore, Bairagarh, Vidisha, Ganj-Basoda, Beena, and Jhansi stations of Madhya Pradesh,” he added.

Officials said that this special train has been operated under a special ‘Bharat Darshan’ tourist package on directives of the Centre with a total journey time of five nights and six days.

“This tour will cover all meals, accommodations and wash, and change facilities in Dharamshalas, all transfers, sight-seeing arrangements, and a dedicated tour manager of IRCTC who will be travelling with the tourists during the entire course of the journey,” they said, adding that the train has an overall capacity for around 850 passengers, and tickets have been priced at Rs5670 and Rs6930 per person for sleeper and AC-3 tier respectively.
“There are plans to run more trains in the future,” they added.
