Jaipurs budding musicians get a chance to perform at this open mic event

A beautifully decorated place with fairy lights, anxious parents and ten young talents, the colorful city of Jaipur witnessed a junior open mic event at a city cafe. The event was titled ‘The Purple Curtain’.Students from different schools of Jaipur participated. The performances ranged from classical music to covers of Indian and western songs. Along with that 18-year-old Anurag Soni performed a beautiful self-composed piece called ‘Tragedy.’"Such events help boost the self-confidence of students and aim to make parents realize that all children are blessed with unique talents which cannot always flourish in a competitive environment," said Mehul Agarwal, organiser of the event.Akul Kasliwal (L) and Puru Sharma The idea was to provide a platform for school students to come and perform simply for the joy of performing and showcasing their talent to the world without the pressure of competition.The band ‘Robust Quarter’ with lead guitarist Suhaas Kumar, vocalist Ishan Saraf, and percussionist Aditya Ranga performed the very famous Rajasthani song ‘Chaudhary’ which left the entire audience swooning..
