BSF officers donate Rs 238L to family of martyr in city

The 91 officers, who gave Rs 2.38 lakh to the family of the deceased officer, were not from his batch but in fact two years his junior. Since he was martyred, the family would get some benefits from the government but we also wanted to extend some support because of which we contributed Rs 2,500 per head. Jaipur: In a heartwarming gesture, the officers of 38th course (direct entry) of BSF collected funds to help the family of assistant commandant Jitendra Singh who was killed during action in Jammu and Kashmir last month. I am deeply moved and am thinking about setting up a trust in Jitendra’s name to help more families like ours.” Some of the officers even contributed Rs 5,000 and the entire amount was given to the family on July 15 which stays in Jaipur.”The collected amount of Rs 2.38 lakh was divided equally and given in the form of two cheques, one in the name of the father and another in the name of Singh’s wife Renu.Inspired and touched by the gesture, the martyr’s father Samundra Singh said,”more than the money, it is the unity shown by the officers which has touched our hearts..
