JAIPUR/ALWAR: After initiating a crackdown on cow smuggling , the Jaipur (rural) police is now geared up to curb the menace. Police have not ruled out that after the strict patrolling the cow smugglers have changed their modus operandi and are now alluring employed persons to deliver the cows. “They were promised Rs 1,500 per round if they successfully deliver the cows to Nooh Mewat of Haryana. In the interrogation they have also named the person who had hired them to deliver the cows in Haryana,” said Hanuman Yadav, investigating officer of the case.Both the accused were produced in court and were sent to judicial custody. On Monday a Chandwaji police team on national highway no -8 connecting Jaipur to Delhi seized two pickup jeeps illegally carrying bovines and rescued six cows and five calves.Police also managed to arrest the drivers of the two vehicles who confessed that they were asked to deliver the cows at Nooh Mewat in Haryana According to sources, senior officers including VK Singh, inspector general of police, Jaipur range under whose jurisdiction Jaipur (rural) comes, has specifically asked his men to be vigilant in curbing cow smuggling..
