Rajasthan gets 339 less rain than last year

The state till Saturday, has received a rainfall of 312.51 mm, which is minus 3.39 percent compared to what it had received till August 11, 2017. JAIPUR: Even after the completion of three spells of south west monsoon , many places in the state are in the category of deficit rainfall. On the other hand, Jaisalmer has got lowest rainfall in the state, as in this season so far, a rainfall of 80.33 mm was recorded in the dry region. 21 districts in the state have got a normal rainfall; only four have got excess rainfall, while eight districts have got a deficit rainfall.Mild to moderate showers continued in the state, especially in the northern and eastern parts of the state.Attributing the limited monsoon activity to the active upper-air cyclonic circulation, Jaipur met office said that light to moderate rainfall will continue in the state for the next couple of days.Heavy rainfall also took place at one or two places in Bharatpur district in eastern Rajasthan, while light rainfall was received by many places in western Rajasthan.In the monsoon season so far, Baran has received a rainfall of 567.07 mm which is highest in the state in this season..
