Raj records third highest no of dengue cases

Jaipur: Despite measures taken to prevent dengue, the state has not only recorded highest number of cases in past 21 years, but it has also third highest number of dengue cases numbering 8,490 in the country. Reporting cases of dengue in winters was not a normal trend. It was unusual that the state had reported dengue cases in winters.Taking note of it, the state government had taken decision in May to make it compulsory for doctors and diagnostic centres to send details of each and every case of dengue reported at their clinics, hospitals and diagnostic centres. In February, March and April, the state had reported 248, 237 and 239 cases, respectively. In campaign launched from May 1 to June 30, the health department launched a campaign Mera Ganv Swastha Ganv, in which health teams had detected 1.1 lakh sites of larvae breeding in houses in the state..
