Fund delay hits milk scheme in government schools

The schools have been delivering hot and sweetened milk on all working days since June 2018.The scheme has three components—procuring milk, sugar and heating. The schools had been directed to purchase milk from the cooperatives or open market, in case, the cooperatives were far away. Most of the milk sellers in the open market do not have bank accounts or refuse to take payments through bank. JAIPUR: There is sheer mismanagement in the Annapurna Milk Yojana system, a project launched by former CM Vasundhara Raje, leaving hundreds of government schools to scramble for arranging milk for students.
