Highway in Bundi blocked for second day

Kota: Gujjars in Bundi district continued road blockades near Topa village on Hindoli – Uniyara national highway number 148D on the second day on Monday in favour of their demand for 5 percent quota in government services. Hundreds of people of Gujjar community including women stayed assembled on the road throughout last night and the day today with some men and women from the community performing dance on Devnarayan Bhajans to pass the time merrily and to entertain the agitators. ‘We would celebrate Devnarayan Jayanti and perform our rites and Puja on the road’, said Poswal adding that Devnarayan temple or his place of divinity is located in almost all the villages so wherever they are protesting and blockading the road, they would celebrate the occasion at the same place without moving to their home village.The blockade by Gujjars on Hindoli – Uniyara NH- 148D continues on the second day today, however the situation is peaceful, told DSP, Nainwa circle Raja Ram Meena.
