Cops attacked by villagers in Baran

Kota: Cops from five to six police stations of Kota and Baran districts were attacked on the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday while they were on a lookout for the accused of a motorbike and mobiles loot . “On a tip-off, a group of five to six cops were on the lookout for some accused in a motorbike and mobile loot case on early Wednesday morning,” said SHO at Deoli–Manji police station. They were attacked by the accused along with other villagers with stones and firearms in Tihadiya village under Anta police station of Baran district.One constable posted at Deoli-Manji police station of Kota district sustained minor bullet injury in the firing and the police force had to move back empty handed. As police reached Tihadiya, some locals started pelting stones at them asking them to go back and some opened fire at the police, injuring one constable. However, police have lodged a case against five persons under various sections of IPC and SC/ST Act and further investigation into the matter is underway..
