Mehta was detained from his home in Talwandi area of Kota city on Friday for interrogation after his name surfaced in a case lodged in July 2018 under sections 8,9, 10, 12, 13 [1][D] of PC Act 1988 Act and 120 B of IPC, Tarunkant Somani, DSP, ACB, Bundi, said.Following interrogation, he was arrested on Friday evening, he added.Two other accused – Mahesh Kumar Meghani and Kanwaljeet Singh, had been arrested in this connection earlier and are now out on bail, he said.During the investigation of the case, Mehta’s role surfaced in the transcripts of mobile recording and he was found to have negotiated an unfair deal of Rs 20 lakh out of which he accepted Rs 5 lakh.In a land-related matter, Mehta, as UIT chairman, played the role of a mediator in abetment to bribery of Rs 20 lakh..
