Government seeks feedback on tourism policy by February 20

JAIPUR: In its bid to expedite the process of rolling out a new tourism policy , the state tourism department has sought stakeholders’ feedback and inputs by February 20.Six working groups have already been formed covering various areas where initiatives can be taken to improve the infrastructure, tourist experience, and attract investments and promote visibility of the state in the source markets. Roadshows of these events should be conducted in various cities of the country to promote the segments.”In its deliberations, FICCI said land has become a very expensive resource and it forms a major component for any tourism project. In an office order, Sreya Guha, principal secretary and commissioner, tourism, has asked the working groups to analyses the past and current practices in Rajasthan as well as in other states and prepare a comprehensive document which can form part of the proposed tourism policy.In a working group deliberations, Atul Sharma, director of FICCI-Rajasthan, said, “New events focusing on wedding, MICE, medical, eco and film tourism should be planned and incorporated on the annual calendar of events..
