Govt mulls linking Brahmani water with Bisalpur dam

Department is also asked to submit a report on increasing the height of Bisalpur dam to store the increasing supply of water. The current position of Bisalpur dam is 308.16 metre which is enough till August, 2019 but if rainfall remains scarce this year as well, the state will face a drought-like situation. New pipelines have already been sanctioned by PHED to the areas of Prithiviraj Nagar, Kho Nagoriyan, Jaamdoli and Amber. PHED has already sanctioned 400 tube-wells and new pipelines in the city and the sanctions have already been granted. For this additional burden of water supply from Bisalpur dam which is already on the verge of drying due to low rainfall last year, needs new source of refill.An official on the condition of anonymity said, “PHED has been asked to submit a report to find measures for the supply of water in the Bisalpur dam through the interlinking of Banas and Brahmani rivers..
