Summary:

The name of the beneficiary as provided under Aadhaar card requires both demographic and biometric authentication as well which the officials said is time consuming. After this, the final beneficiary list is sent to the state governments, which are required to sign fund-transfer requests, a prerequisite for the Centre to deposit the money in to the banks accounts of farmers. The Centre alleges that the state had not yet singed the fund transfer request.But the officials in the state government said the frequent changes in procedure by the Centre is leading to the delay. But it said availability of Aadhaar is mandatory.
