Man tries to smuggle Rs 20L gold in turban at city airport detained

Jaipur: The customs department at Jaipur International Airport caught a man trying to smuggle 673 grams of gold, approximately worth Rs 20 lakh, inside his turban. He had allegedly hidden the gold in his turban and according to sources, the customs department had a tip-off about Singh smuggling the metal. The man was on a flight from Bangkok.In the first quarter of the year itself, the customs department at Jaipur Airport has seized over three kg of gold being carried into the country illegally. He would purchase the gold from Thailand and get it into India illegally, where he would sell it for profit. Authorities are trying to get more information about his previous, if any, arrests in any similar case..
