BJP had earlier declared that they would bring the No-confidence motion against the Gehlot government. However, Ashok Gehlot is confident of still holding the majority in the assembly.

A special sitting of the Rajasthan Assembly session will commence from today.
This sitting comes after the months-long political crisis in Rajasthan lead by the revolt of Congress MLAs, including then-Deputy CM Sachin Pilot against CM Ashok Gehlot.
It is expected to be a powerful dramatic session as Congress and BJP are at loggerheads over the Gehlot government’s majority mark in the assembly.
BJP had earlier declared that they would bring the No-confidence motion against the Gehlot government. However, Ashok Gehlot is confident of still holding the majority in the assembly.
CM Gehlot, on Thursday, said his government would seek a trust vote and “show the power of the Congress”.
He has the support of at least 107 MLAs in the 200-member House, while Opposition BJP has 72.
Therefore, according to media reports, the Congress party itself will move a Confidence Motion when the house convenes at 11 am today.
If the Chief Minister moves a Confidence Motion, it will supersede the no-confidence motion moved by any other member, according to the rules.
More importantly, as per convention, a no-confidence motion cannot be moved against a government for six months once it passes a no-confidence motion.
The decision to table Confidence motion was taken in the CLP meet on Thursday.
Even Sachin Pilot was present in that CLP meet.
